Plugins Used
I use many WordPress plugins to get Eruantale.net to function just the way I like it. Below is a list of them all. If you see anything else that doesn’t function as it normally would it is probably just a bit of cleverness. Feel free to ask me about it.
Front end, or stuff people see
- Acronyms - Automatically defines acronyms in posts with <acronym> tags
- Clean Archives - Makes my archives look nicer
- Dagon Design Form Mailer - A secure contact form script
- Gravatar - Adds Gravatars
- Optimal Title - Moves the position of the ’separator’ in wp_title() to after the title rather than before. This lets me put my site name last in my page title
- Search Pages - Allows visitors to search pages as well as posts
- Subscribe To Comments - Adds a checkbox to the comment form which allows a visitor to subscribe to the post’s comment feed via e-mail.
- Ultimate Tag Warrior - Allows me to tag my posts and do all sorts of fancy things with them
- WordPress Online Counter - Tells me how many visitors are currently online
- WordPress Post Ratings - Adds ratings to my posts and allows me to list my top rated entries on my Archive page.
Back end, or stuff only you see
- Akismet - Protects from spam
- All in One SEO Pack - Search Engine Optimization stuff
- Counterize - Site stats for Eruantale
- Dofollow - Removes the nofollow attribute from comments, which WordPress adds by default
- Enforce www. Preference - Ensures that my site is only known in search engines by it’s url with the www. prefix
- FeedBurner FeedSmith - Ensures that everyone is using my FeedBurner feed instead of the default WordPress feed
- Google Sitemap Generator - Generates an XML site map for Google Sitemaps
- No Self Pings - Prevents WordPress from adding a trackback every time I link to one of my pages in a post
- Permalink Redirect - Ensures that there is only one URL associated with each page and blog entry, to prevent double listings in search engines
- Time Zone - Handles time changes automatically
- Word Statistics - Checks my post against several readability tests that tell me how readable it is. (For example, one tells me how many years of education a person has to have in order to read my post)
- WordPress Cache - Caches my site for faster browsing
- WordPress Database Backup - Backs up my files just in case I ever get amnesia and delete everything
- WordPress Version Check - Alerts me when my WordPress is out of date
