Hey there, reader. Nice to meet you. My name is Shawna and this is my weblog. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest—specifically Portland, Oregon—with my husband of two and a half years, Matthew. I’m a twenty-something year old college student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with a ministry minor. I plan to go on and get my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing when I graduate in 2013. I love to write about writing and the art of being a student.
If I were a character in Beowulf, my epithet would be “maker of lists.” I get excited about things like paper and pens. Regina Spektor makes me happy. I have a tendency to be slightly obsessive-compulsive. I do things like writing a novel in a month for fun, and I am a big nerd who loves the British television show Doctor Who.

- I have been trapped in an elevator. It was half terrifying, half hilarious.

- I took vocal lessons for a few years (Mezzo-Soprano) and participated in a three hundred person choir at a music festival several times.

- I attended an all day marathon showing of all of the Lord of the Rings movies in theaters when Return of the King came out.
