Hey there, reader. Nice to meet you. My name is Shawna and this is my weblog. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my new husband, Matthew. I’m a twenty-something college student pursuing my Bachelor’s in English Language and Literature. Perhaps I’ll go on to get my Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing someday. I love to write about writing and the art of being a student.
If I were a character in Beowulf, my epithet would be “maker of lists.” I get excited about things like paper and pens. Regina Spektor makes me happy. I have a tendency to be slightly obsessive-compulsive. I do things like writing a novel in a month for fun, and I enjoy laughing at captioned pictures of cats.

- I have been trapped in an elevator. It was half terrifying, half hilarious.
- My birthday (November 5th) sometimes falls on election day.
- I was once a county delegate to a political convention.
- I took vocal lessons for a few years (Mezzo-Soprano) and participated in a three hundred person choir at a music festival several times.
- Some of my relatives walked straight out of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. No, really.
- I attended an all day marathon showing of all of the Lord of the Rings movies in theaters (Trilogy Tuesday) when the third one came out.
- Walt Disney, J.R.R. Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis are my heroes.
- I have never been out of the United States.
- On my bookshelf is a book called How to Read a Book.
- I am the complete opposite of a cowgirl, but I married a cowboy.
