America’s Got Talent VS Britain’s Got Talent

It’s rare that I ever have a moment I just have to blog, but I had one tonight.

I walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water and I heard some really good classical male singer singing an opera song on the computer in the office. So I wandered into the office and asked my dad what he was watching.

“Britain’s Got Talent.”

The guy finished the song and impressed the judges so much that one of them was crying. I happened to glance over at the TV, which was muted, and saw some guy doing flips on a pogo stick.

“What’s that?” I asked.

“America’s Got Talent.”

Priceless.

Britain > America. Actually, pirates > Britain > America (but I’ve just got them on the brain as of late).

I was seriously just on your site earlier today, looking for the link to a plugin I knew you used, thinking man, I wished Shawna blogged more often…

‘Course now you’re going to email me and yell at me to get on aim… which I don’t do as much as I used to, so I digress/quit.

If you were watching Australia’s Got Talent (if such a show exists) you might have been watching some guy jumping around in a kangaroo pouch :P

It’s great that you can appreciate such things when you’re American yourself. That guy was really amazing, I love how he was just a normal, modest person with a great talent, for me, that’s what really matters. I’m so tired of the people who are all about image and don’t have talent. And opera beats the pogo stick, every time.

Most of the people who HAVE talent also have the good sense not to parade pompously on national TV..

I think that Il Divo sing that song too. They guy actually sings as good or better than them, and they are all scholed opera singers.
